JUST IN: Tinubu holds closed-door meeting with Oba of Benin in Aso Rock (Video)

His Royal Majesty Omon'Oba N'Edo Uku'Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are currently having a private meeting in the State House in Abuja.

As of the time this report was filed, the meeting's objective was unknown.

However, there are rumors that the gathering is intended to publicly congratulate the new president on his election as well as to discuss issues that are important to the Nigerian people.

Top Benin Chiefs are also present in Oba's delegation, including the Egiagbai of Ekperi, the Imah of Somorika, the Onojie of Ewato, and the Ojuromi of Uromi.

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, was named Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria by the Federal Government in May.

When the administration of the university paid a courtesy visit to the oba in Benin City, Edo State, Vice Chancellor Prof. Olufemi Peters made the announcement and promised that things would get better for the university.

The monarch said, "We aim to lend our experience in directing the institution's affairs. I'm incredibly appreciative that President Muhammadu Buhari, the Commander in Chief, thought it appropriate to name me Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria.
