Nigerian soldiers killed 22 militants in Katsina

At least 22 militants have been killed by the Nigerian Air Force in the northwest of the country's Katsina state's Jibiya and Batsari local governments.

The 'Wild Danger' command's forces carried out an airstrike on bandits on Monday in the northwest of the country, killing the bandits, the majority of them were the children of the murdered bandit Abdulkareem Boss, according to the PRNigeria newspaper.

After receiving information that the bandits were planning an attack to kidnap travellers on the Jibiya to Katsina road, a powerful source in the army told PRNigeria that the attack was carried out on the mountains where the bandits were hiding.

According to the report, the bandits have been intimidating the local populations and kidnapping citizens in some local government districts in Kankara.

Attack that devastated the bandits' bases and resulted in the deaths of numerous bandits.

The renowned gunman Abdulkareem Boss and some of his children were murdered in an airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force in August 2022 on their hideout in Ruga Forest in Katsina State.

The Chief of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has directed the Air Force to work with other security agencies to take down the terrorists and their hideouts, according to the Nigerian Air Force's spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, who confirmed the incident on Monday.
