Niger's coup leaders accused France of planning to use force against them
The soldiers who staged a coup in the Republic of Niger accused the French government of trying to use force to return the deposed president Bazoum Muhammed to the throne.
In a statement issued by the army, they said that there are some soldiers of a foreign country who have not come out clearly and have been arrested, who said that they used to throw pepper spray on the protesters in support of the army on Sunday.
The soldiers also accused France of collaborating with some Nigeriens in plotting how to use military force to attack them.
The protest on Sunday turned into a riot, resulting in the injury of 6 people who are now in the hospital.
This is coming after France has threatened that all protests in support of or against the army should not affect its property, or its citizens living in Niger, otherwise they will suffer.
