NIS Has Sent 15 Senior Officials To Some States To Improve The Passport Work

In an effort to speed up the current passport issuance procedure, Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, the acting comptroller general of the National Immigration Service (NIS), has authorised the immediate redeployment of more than 12 passport control officers.

The agency spokesperson, Kenneth Kure, announced this move in a statement on Wednesday.

The NIS is making yet another attempt to streamline the passport issuance procedure at Nigerian embassies abroad.

She expressed guarantees that the agency's top officials would develop a successful strategy to strengthen the bond between the organisation and its clients.

Usman Babangida, the deputy comptroller general in charge of personnel affairs, listed the impacted offices in the document he signed, including Festac and Alausa in Lagos, Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nassarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abiya, Kano, Taraba, Ondo, and many others.

All of the officers dispatched, according to Adepoju's orders, must be skilled in resolving issues that plague the commission's offices in the chosen states.

She made a point of highlighting how crucial the work was for the officers dispatched to the states.

She also mentioned that going forward, only the agency's smartest officers would be dispatched to significant locations to address people-related issues.
