NIS Ribas Branch Will Collaborate With The State Government On Investment And Homeland Security
His Excellency the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, received an official visit from the Comptroller of the National Immigration Service (NIS), Rivers State branch, CIS James Sunday, at the Government House in Fatakwal.
According to James, the visit is primarily focused on fostering cooperation and progress in the fields of investment, internal security, and other development areas. Despite the fact that he had a ton of work ahead of him, he appreciated the governor's generosity and respect in receiving their delegation.
On behalf of the agency's acting head, Comptroller James Sunday took advantage of the occasion to thank the state government for its assistance and support of the NIS and to reassure Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the agency's commitment to cooperating with the new administration for the benefit of Rivers State's residents in general as well as for development and national security.
The Comptroller reaffirmed the lengthy association between the State Government and the NIS from May 27, 1967, when Rivers State was formed from the South East area, and subsequently in 1967, when Bayelsa State was formed from the previous Rivers State. Omuma Local Government was established on October 1, 1996, the same day Bayelsa began, bringing the total number of local governments in the state to 23.
Senior officials from 23 local governments oversee the area for the Immigration Service, which has its main offices at the port in the state capital and the passport office.
