According to the NDLEA, the student was detained as he was travelling to study in Europe.
A student was detained by the Nigerian Drug Enforcement Administration (NDLEA) for allegedly attempting to export drugs to Europe.
The team detained 19-year-old Benjamin Nnamani Daberechi after discovering 7.2 kilogrammes of methamphetamine concealed within a crayfish.
According to a statement released by the NDLEA on Sunday, Benjamin is a student who intends to travel to Cyprus to get a degree.
"On Wednesday, July 12, the suspect was detained as the passengers of Turkish Flight 0624 were being screened.
7.2 kilos of a white substance were discovered in a "crayfish" suitcase after Daberechi claimed to be a student travelling to study in Cyprus after being questioned by police.
According to the agency, a test revealed that the substance was methamphetamine.
The NDLEA reported that 116.5 kilos of Colorado marijuana were taken by its agents at Tincan port as part of its campaign against drug trafficking.
