Oil Subsidy Removal: The College of Education Teachers Association has ordered teachers to work twice a week

The Union of Teachers of Colleges of Education in Nigeria (COEASU) has ordered its members to work twice a week due to rising fuel prices after the President of Nigeria removed fuel subsidies.

On Wednesday, union president Smart Olugbeko stated that union members cannot subsist on minimum pay.

The order came after the organization's general assembly on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

Olugbeko said union members won't return to work unless the federal government grants COEASU's 200 percent salary raise.
