Some illegal immigrants from Africa who had been deported home by Tunisian authorities were saved by the Libyan border guards.

The migrants were taken to the village of al-Assah by the Libyan authorities after they discovered them in the Saharan woodlands.

Nigerians from two of the migrants claimed that Tunisian soldiers beat them and chased them through the woods so that they might return to the Libyan border.
