In Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, more than 100 bandits have escaped from their lairs in the woodlands of Iche, Taka-Lafiya Gidan Makeri, and Janjala districts.

After the soldiers invaded the forests in the Kagarko local government, they made their way out.

Bandits have reportedly taken control of a number of places in Kagarko, where they have been abducting individuals for the past few months.

However, once the military demolished their lairs in the forest and detained individuals who were thought to be providing the bandits with confidential information, kidnappings of people got simpler.

Suleiman Aliyu, a traditional leader in Kagarko, was quoted as saying that the military arrived in the town yesterday, Wednesday, about 11 am.

They arrived in the town in Hilux cars, some trucks, and some motorbikes, according to Aliyu, and then they headed straight to the villages of Iche, Taka-Lafiya, Gidan Makeri, and Janjala, where they searched for bandits in the jungle.

He claimed that the bandits fled from their hiding place as soon as they gained information.

The soldiers' entrance into the forest was confirmed by an unnamed source in the Kagarko king's palace.

A statement on the subject was not made by the state police spokeswoman.
