The court ordered the release of former commissioner Ganduje

Engineer Idris Wada Saleh, a former commissioner of works for the state who is accused of corruption involving one billion naira, has been ordered to be released by the Federal High Court in Kano.

According to the Kano State Anti-Corruption Commission (KPCACC), he was recently ordered to be detained by the High Court of the state magistrate, according to Daily Trust.

In the records of various projects during the prior administration, the former commissioner was charged with fraud and lying.

According to allegations made by the Kano anti-corruption commission, the former commissioner offered Arafat Construction and "Multi resources" one billion naira in 2023 to fix 30 roads in the state capital.

However, the agency claims that none of the works have been completed. The KPCACC recently reported that it had written a letter of invitation to Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of the state, about the "dollar video."

But the agency has been put on hold by the state's federal high court until it has heard the complaint that Ganduje brought before it seeking for the agency under inquiry to be stopped.
