The Nigerian police shot a madman after he beheaded an old man

After beheading Alfred Opadipe, 84, a 32-year-old householder named David Shodola, who is thought to be mentally ill, caused pandemonium in Ipara town in Ogun State's Remo-Arewa Local Government Area on Friday. But when the insane guy resisted arrest, the state's police shot him.

On Friday, a nine minutes and eight second video that was posted to social media showed the lifeless body of the lunatic on the ground and, in the distance, what appeared to be the elderly man's skull.

According to a witness who was heard on tape, the insane man beheaded the elderly man to kill him.

In a statement he released in Abeokuta on Friday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omotola Odutola, confirmed the occurrence.

Odutola stated that the police, under the direction of Isara police officer CSP Bankole Eluyeru, were sent to the location after receiving an emergency call from a resident of the neighborhood where the event occurred.

According to her, "Isara zonal police, CSP Bankole Eluyeru, tried to arrest the suspect, but he used a machete to defend himself against the security forces and other people, which is why he was shot dead."
