The oil consumption in Nigeria has decreased by 35 percent

According to the Nigerian Petroleum Regulatory and Refining and Transport Agency, NMDPRA, the country's daily fuel consumption has dropped to 46.34 million litres as a result of the removal of gasoline subsidies by the national government.

According to the NAN news agency, the agency's chairman, Ahmed Farouk, made this statement at a meeting of oil and gas resource stakeholders in Lagos.

In comparison to the daily consumption of 65 million litres prior to the withdrawal of the fuel subsidy, he added, the reduction is 35%.

According to Ahmed Farouk, "62 million litres of oil were consumed each day in January and February, 71.4 million litres each day in March, 67.7 million litres each day in April, 49.5 million litres each day in May, and 46.3 million litres each day in July."

The agency's head also expressed gratitude to the businessmen who expressed a desire to purchase oil on the world market.

He continued by saying that 10 companies have decided to begin importing petroleum, while 56 companies have expressed interest in doing so.

According to Ahmed Farouk, three businesses have recently started bringing in fuel from other countries.
