The police arrested a man for allegedly selling his three children

The Nigerian Police Force detained a guy in Rivers state in the country's southern region on suspicion of selling his three children.

According to Grace Iringe-Koko, the police force's spokesperson, numerous people involved in the sale of kids have been detained across the state as the police are searching for the man in their office in the state's old GRA district.

Michael Charles, the dad who admitted to selling his kids, blamed his decision on lack of financial means and parental care.

A doctor and a former council member are among others who were also involved in the sale of the kids.

The children's grandma claimed that her father-in-law has been selling her daughter's children for a while and lied to her that the children would die after birth in the hospital while speaking on behalf of the children's mother, who is deaf.

According to a statement made by the police, they were able to identify these individuals, along with the persons who buy the newborns, thanks to the information they learned as a consequence of the arrest of some people accused of trafficking kids.

They revealed to the police how they swapped the kids after you detained them.

According to the police statement, Favour Amaewhule, one of the purchasers, claimed that she paid 700,000 naira for the infant, of which 350,000 naira went to the father and the remaining 350,000 to the former councillor and his colleagues.

The police agency stated that it will keep conducting investigations to find other individuals who are engaged in this wrongdoing so that appropriate action can be taken against them.
