The Zulu king of South Africa has denied that he was poisoned

Misuzulu kaZwelithini, the Zulu monarch of South Africa, has refuted claims that he was poisoned and maintains that he is in good health.

This occurs after his traditional prime minister claimed over the weekend that the monarch is receiving treatment in Eswatini for what has supposedly been a poisoning.

Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi said that the King is in the hospital as a result of the poison-related death of one of his top advisors, but the King's spokesperson rejected this and stated that the King is in good health.

The monarch stated that he was scheduled to go to check on his health on a regular basis and that he chose to do it in Eswatini in the footage that was shared with the South African media.

"I consumed no poison, and I am in perfect health.

"I'm content because I'm healthy and haven't consumed any poison," she said. People should be reminded not to listen to whatever people say, he added, by the people, the Zulu community, and my family.

On the phone from Eswatini, King Misuzulu reportedly told AFP that "he is in very good health."

The 48-year-old monarch came to power last year following the death of his father, King Goodwill Zwelithini, in a contentious succession battle.
