In an unprecedented year for applications and grants, the Taco Bell Foundation is removing obstacles from education for young people pursuing their passions.
April 26, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- IRVINE, Calif. The Taco Bell Foundation revealed today that it will be giving out the most Live Más Scholarships ever—more than $10 million—in the organization's existence. Ninety-eight students, ages sixteen to twenty-six, who are eager to spark significant change in their neighborhood and beyond will get the scholarships. The Taco Bell Foundation is offering $7.6 million to Taco Bell fans nationwide and $2.5 million to the employees of Taco Bell restaurants this year. The award amounts for each recipient vary from $5,000 to $25,000.
The Live Más Scholarship is a passion-based scholarship that equips students with the necessary tools and resources to achieve their educational goals with confidence. Applicants must submit a two-minute video explaining their passion, a positive change they wish to see in the world, and how their education will help them reach that objective in order to be eligible for the scholarship.
The Taco Bell Foundation got about 14,000 scholarship applications this year, which is a record high. In addition to nearly 500 beneficiaries of renewals through the Taco Bell Foundation's renewal application, which permits applicants to extend their scholarships up to three times, recipients include over 300 brand enthusiasts and 150 members of the Taco Bell restaurant crew.
Customers who join in the Taco Bell Foundation's Round Up campaign by rounding up to the next dollar provide 100% of the funding for scholarships given to Taco Bell fans, demonstrating how change truly can transform lives. While Taco Bell Corp. and Taco Bell Franchisees provide all funding for team member scholarships.

For these young academics, it offers a community where they can grow outside of the classroom and learn from each other," stated Jennifer Bradbury, the Taco Bell Foundation's executive director. King A.: King is a dedicated animator who is a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) studying business marketing and art. The son of immigrants from Togo, he aspires to create his own animation and art studio someday to support fellow first-generation American animators in the business. King is a member of the Taco Bell squad, and he found out about his scholarship at a surprise party held at the restaurant where his dad is the general manager.
Ashley E.: Having been born deaf and raised in a Spanish-speaking home, Stacy rapidly became aware of the difficulties posed by communication gaps. With the right tools and time, Stacy was able to learn American Sign Language and developed a deep love for Deaf Education. Stacy, who is now pursuing her Associate of Arts, intends to continue her education at Stephen F. Austin State University to earn a degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Studies. Stacy intends to use her education to change the lives and academic paths of young people who are deaf and hard of hearing when she returns to school.
The Live Más Scholarship Summer of Connection will take place in July in San Diego, California, and offers scholarships to Live Más Scholars. The purpose of the in-person conference is to help participants develop the networks and abilities needed to pursue their careers with confidence and positively impact their communities.
