10 people were killed in the latest fighting that broke out in Ethiopia
After spending a week in peace, fighting broke out again in some parts of the Amhara region of Ethiopia, which has resulted in the death of at least 10 civilians.
Residents of the Amhara city of Debre Tabor told the BBC that fighting between the militia and the government forces started at the weekend and continued until Monday morning.
Witnesses said that the city's main hospital was destroyed by heavy artillery fire.
A doctor at the hospital mentioned that among those injured there are at least five people who visited the sick and more than 20 civilians nearby.
Attempts by the BBC to get information from the local authorities and a commander in charge of the six-month state of emergency were unsuccessful.
Reports also show that fighting took place in the towns of Debre Markos and Fenote Selam and their surroundings, as well as some small towns and villages in the area.
Conflict has erupted in the Amhara region since April, as a result of a controversial decision to disband the regional army.
Last week, the Amhara regional council appointed a new president after Yilkal Kefale, who led the region for almost two years, resigned.
