25 soldiers killed in Niger State - Security Headquarters
The Nigerian security headquarters said 25 soldiers were killed in Niger state in the north-central part of the country.
The media in Nigeria quoted the spokesperson of the Defense Headquarters, Major-General Edward Buba, as confirming this, when he explained the ambush of the Nigerian Army in the state, on August 14, 2023.
Major-General Buba said that investigations are still being conducted into the cause of the accident of the Nigerian Army plane in Nejan state, and he requested the people of the town to guard against the propaganda spread by the bandits on the issue.
Reports indicate that the bandits ambushed the Nigerian army in which some soldiers died.
A helicopter of the Nigerian Air Force, model MI-171, crashed while on its way to deliver an emergency, in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
