The events are happening while the security chiefs from the Ecowas countries are starting a meeting on Wednesday where they will discuss the coup in Niger, and what kind of action they can take against the coup plotters.
The meeting which is taking place in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, is part of the decision reached at the meeting of the Ecowas group held in Abuja last weekend, under the leadership of the leader of the group and the president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu.
In the past, the group warned the military that carried out the coup to return President Mohamed Bazoum to power within a week or the group will use military force against them.
At the same time, a convoy from the Ecowas group is expected to arrive in Niamey to hold talks with the soldiers who carried out the coup under the leadership of General Abdourahmane Tiani.
