 Algeria sent an envoy to Niger


The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Lounès Magramane will visit the Republic of Niger to meet with different parties in the country in an effort to resolve the crisis that arose after the coup.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria has announced that the envoy of Musaman will arrive in Yamai this Thursday (24.08.2023) to meet with all stakeholders on the affairs of Niger. The goal of the country is to overcome the dispute between the soldiers who overthrew the Bazoum government and the ECOWAS group in cold water instead of taking military action which Algeria is against.

The visit of the Algerian diplomat in Niger comes a day after a visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to other countries neighboring Niger and ECOWAS members including Nigeria, the Republic of Benin and Ghana on the issue.
