Buhari expressed his condolences to the families of Nigerian soldiers who were killed in Niger
The former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari expressed his grief over the death of the soldiers who were killed in an ambush by bandits and the downing of a military helicopter in Niger state.
In a Twitter message published by the former president, he said he was shocked by the helicopter crash, after the army was ambushed.
"I offer my condolences to the families of the deceased. I am also praying for those who were injured to get well."
Buhari also sent his message of condolence to the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, and the army.
On Thursday, the Nigerian Defense Forces confirmed the death of 36 soldiers in an ambush in Zungeru area of Niger State, and the crash of a helicopter that picked up the bodies of soldiers and sick people last Monday.
