Through the Burger King Scholars program, we've given nearly $60 million to more than 45,000 students across North America who deserved it. Our goal is to give one scholarship to every BK® store in North America. That's more than $7 million each year!
Since 2000, nearly $55 million has been given to over 45,000 students across North America through the Burger King Scholars Program. Our goal is to give one scholarship to every BK restaurant in North America. That's more than $7 million a year!
The Burger King Scholars Program was made in honor of Burger King co-founder James "Jim" W. McLamore. It gives scholarships of between $1,000 and $50,000 to high school students, BK employees, and their families. Scholarships are meant to help pay for college or a vocational or technical school after high school. Recipients are chosen through an application process that looks at their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities, and community service. In 2022 alone, the Foundation gave scholarships worth more than $4.6 million to almost 4,000 students.
For the 2023-2024 cycle, the application period starts on October 16, 2023, and ends on December 15, 2023.
