 Burkina and Mali said they will respond if ECOWAS attacks Niger

The countries of Mali and Burkina Faso have warned the West African Union of ECOWAS/CEDEAO about the attempt to use the military to crush the soldiers who made a coup in Niger.

In a joint statement read by the Malian army on national television, they said that they will consider any military attack on Niger as launching a war against them, and it is inevitable that they will respond.

The statement of the army also added that if ECOWAS deliberately attacks Niger's army, they will definitely leave the group and support their counterparts in Niger, in response to ECOWAS's military response.

The army's announcement comes at a time when the international community is threatening to attack Niger's army if they do not return the government to civilian hands.

Nigeria, which is a neighbor of Niger, is close, and the leader of ECOWAS has announced that it is ready to attack Niger as soon as its troops receive the order to do so.
