Coup: Tinubu Meets With The Governors Of The States Bordering The Republic Of Niger
President Bola Tinubu discussed with the governors of the states bordering the Republic of Niger on Sunday evening.
The meeting was held when the term set by the ECOWAS group for Nigerien military officers was fulfilled.
ECOWAS has asked Niger's military to restore the reins of power to the government of President Mohammed Bazoum that they toppled within a week or face the Organization's military team.
The participants of the meeting included the governor of Sokoto state, Ahmed Aliyu; Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Danmodi; Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni; The governor of Kebbi state, Idris Nasir, and the governor of Katsina state, Dikko Radda.
So far, no statement has been issued on the meeting of the president with the governors of the states, which was held at the presidential palace in Abuja.
