Global warming will begin to cost lives around the world - IMF
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned that the problem of global warming threatens poor countries, which if urgent measures are not taken, will start to cause loss of life by 2060.
The IMF said that there will be an increase of 8.5 percent of the number of lives that will be lost, especially in areas that suffer from climate change, and 14 percent of these countries will experience an increase in heat.
Among the 39 countries, which contain about one billion people of the world, half of them who are suffering from this problem are from the continent of Africa.
More than 50 million people in these countries will face severe hunger in 2060, due to the challenges that may surround the food supply and rising prices.
This made the IMF call on world leaders to hold a meeting on the problem of global warming in Kenya, in order to find a solution, especially for poor countries.
The IMF said that by 2040, these countries could experience temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius equivalent to 61 days a year more than other countries.
