 King Charles will visit France in September

King Charles will visit France in September, after canceling a planned visit in March due to protests against pension reform.

The visit, which was originally scheduled for three days, would have been the king's first visit abroad since his ascension to the throne, succeeding his late mother, Elizabeth II as the head of state.

However, public unrest due to the new pension law of French President Emmanuel Macron caused the visit to be postponed.

France's Élysée palace said the King's visit was an "honour".

"It will confirm the evidence of the deep historical ties that unite our countries and the two peoples, and will help to honor France's excellence and know-how," according to a statement.

The king and his wife, Queen Camilla, are scheduled to visit Paris and Bordeaux, in the first round of the visit.
