Niger's military leaders held new appointments in the country.

In a statement released by the army on Friday night, they announced the appointment of General Moussa Salau Barmou as the country's chief of staff.

Then Colonel Amirou Kader as his assistant.

Major Colonel Sani Kiaou is the new head of the army, the statement said.

And Colonel Abdoutahamane Zataka as his deputy.

The announcement also said that General Sani Kache is the new head of the country's defense minister's office.

The soldiers of Niger have said that they are ready to respond if the Ecowas group attacks them in their country.
