Senegal's parliament acquitted two of the country's top opposition figures

The parliament of Senegal acquitted some of the country's two main opposition members, saying that they now have the opportunity to run for office in the next presidential election.

The parliament voted to pardon the two people who were previously banned from running for office.

Now the parliament has approved Khalifa Sall, and Karim Wadd - who is banned from running for office in 2019 - can run for office.

The leader of the opposition, Ousmane Sanko, is facing charges for committing some crimes that will prevent him from running for president.
