The Niger Army has condemned the ECOWAS sanctions
The leader of the coup in Niger has condemned the sanctions imposed by ECOWAS on the country, describing them as illegal and unjust.
In a message that he presented to the nation on television, General Abdoramane Tchiani, said that his government will not allow Western or African countries to put pressure on his country to return Bazoum to the leadership.
General Tchiani also said that French citizens should not be afraid of anything.
France has already evacuated nearly a thousand people, including 560 citizens, after rebels attacked its embassy in Yamai on Sunday.
