The police have confirmed the abduction of a prince and his wife in Nasarawa state.
The Nasarawa state police force has confirmed the kidnapping of the Emir of Gurku, Jibrin Mohammed and his wife by some bandits in Gurku town in Karu local government of the state.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the public relations officer of the police confirmed the incident to the media on Monday, saying that the king was kidnapped in his palace.
According to Nansel, on the 6th of August, the Nasarawa State Police received an emergency call that some people suspected to be kidnappers had invaded the palace in Gurku town, 10 kilometers from the main town of Mararaba in Karu local government.
"After receiving the news, the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Mohammed-Baba, sent a team of police officers with the cooperation of vigilantes to the scene.
"When the officers arrived, they found that the prince and his wife had already been taken to an unknown place.
