Mining Cave Killed Four People In Bauchi State
At least four people lost their lives after a mining cave collapsed on miners in Yadagungume Forest in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Saturday.
LEADERSHIP learned that the miners lost their lives while digging for lead.
Someone who witnessed the incident, who asked not to be named, said that the miners have been working on the mine for months.
He confirmed to our representative that the bodies of the four workers were taken out of the cave that had covered them.
Confirming the incident, the governor of Ningi local government, Hon. Ibrahim Zubairu said that the four people were stuck in the cave and later died before they were given emergency treatment.
Zubairu said that the mining site is located in Kogo Kadage forest, seven kilometers from Yadagungume town.
