Annual Meeting of the Coolidge Foundation, Union Christian Church, 4:00 PM
Attending the 2023 Annual Meeting with chairman Amity Shlaes and President Matthew Denhart is open to Coolidge Foundation members who want to hear more about how the organization is educating Americans nationwide about President Coolidge's legacy and principles. The hour will be lively with Coolidge Scholars' musical selections and declamations. The Union Christian Church in Plymouth, Vermont, located at 43 Messer Hill Road, will host the annual meeting. All active members are welcome to attend the annual meeting. Here is where you may renew your membership online.

7:00 PM Centennial Celebration, Beneath the Large Tent
Come celebrate with friends of Coolidge from all around the world at this once-in-a-century gala event. Dinner starts at 7:30 PM, after the start of the cocktails at 6:30 PM. Governor Jim Douglas of Vermont will perform the emceeing duties as we raise a glass to President Coolidge and everyone who strives to uphold his legacy and principles. (The gala's tickets are sold out.)
Coolidge Readings, Late Evening, Union Christian Church
Join us for a late-night group reading of Calvin Coolidge's Autobiography at the Union Christian Church. You can volunteer ahead of time to lead a section's reading, or you can just show up at the church and we'll give you a section to read. The Homestead Inauguration Reenactment, scheduled for 2:47 AM, will precede this group reading. Click this link to sign up.

Calvin Coolidge took the oath of office as the thirty-first president of the United States early on August 3, 1923. Col. John Coolidge, Coolidge's father, gave his son the oath of office using his power as a notary public. This grandiose, yet deeply modest, event established the tone for the Coolidge administration.

The official naturalization ceremony is held under the tent at 11:00 AM.

The Coolidge Foundation and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will organize a naturalization ceremony when immigrants residing in Vermont will be required to take the Oath of Allegiance and become legal citizens of the United States. Come celebrate with us at this poignant, hour-long outdoor ceremony, and help us welcome the new Americans. There will be a reception and some light fare after that. For school-age children and young adults, a naturalization ceremony offers the perfect chance to witness what it means to make the decision to become an American citizen.

There aren't many options for buying food at the Notch. Therefore, we suggest that you prepare to bring a picnic so that you can enjoy the grounds of the Historic Site with family and friends.

We invite you to participate in a public celebration commemorating the centenary of the Coolidge presidency. The event will culminate in a recreation of the 1923 inauguration, which will happen in front of the Coolidge Homestead in Plymouth Notch.

4:00 PM ~ Special Talk: Church and Coolidge's 1923 Tokyo Earthquake
The Great Kanto Earthquake, which devastated Japan in September 1923 and left thousands dead and extensive damage, was one of Coolidge's first major problems as president. Japan still recalls President Coolidge's and the American people's response. Come learn more as Professor Yuichi Ono from Tohoku University in Japan is interviewed by Governor Jim Douglas.

Union Christian Church, President Warren G. Harding Memorial Service, 11:30 a.m.
In the days after the unexpected demise of America's twenty-ninth president, a memorial ceremony was conducted in Plymouth for President Harding. Come along for a historical reenactment complete with hymns and readings.
