The story of the expulsion of the Nigerian ambassador from Niger is not true
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria has denied the reports that Niger's government forces expelled its ambassador Mohammed Sani Usman from their country.
A statement from the ministry said that the reports circulating that on Friday the soldiers gave the ambassador 48 hours to leave the country are not true.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assures the public that this story is false and that they should ignore it," said a statement released this Saturday evening.
False news has been spread about the expulsion of ambassadors from Niger, including the one in which the army denied the expulsion of the American ambassador.
Niger's relations with other countries have deteriorated since the army overthrew the civilian government of Mohamed Bazoum in July and General Abdourahmane Tchiani declared himself president.
