The United States will continue to provide food aid to Niger
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the US will continue to provide aid and food aid to the Republic of Niger.
However, Mr. Blinken said that the United States will stop some aid that will help the West African country.
He said that the United States will continue to provide security to protect its officers in the country.
Mr. Blinken's comments come at the same time that the Ecowas group of countries agreed to use military force in Niger, as long as the army did not return the elected president Mohamed Bazoum to power.
Niger has already announced the withdrawal of its ambassadors in other countries including the United States, France and Nigeria.
On Friday, Nigeria announced the closure of the country's borders with the Republic of Niger, after cutting off the electricity it supplies to the country, in a move to force the army to return Bazoum to power.
