We are not affiliated with Wagner - Mali
Senior officials of Mali's military administration told the BBC that they have no connection with the head of the Wagner company, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
"We don't have anything to do with him, we don't even know him, so we have nothing to say about the plane crash that happened to him".
An official at Burkina Faso's media ministry denied any ties between his country and Wagner's president.
While Guinean officials said they could not say anything at the moment until they have detailed information.
Officials in the Central African Republic say they don't have full details of what happened, and they doubt Prigozhin was on the plane that crashed.
Prigozhin's name is on the list of passengers on the plane that crashed north of Moscow, killing 10 people.
Earlier this week, Yevgeny Prigozhin appeared in a video showing the group recruiting new fighters in Africa, two months after the failed military uprising he led.
"Wagner's company has strengthened Russia in African countries", as Prigozhin said in the video.
He added that "We are taking responsibility to continue our work and to fulfill the commitments we made during the agreement".
In recent years, Wagner has deployed thousands of its fighters in at least five African countries, including Mali and the Central African Republic.
