Shortly after assuming office, the new Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has vowed to end sake farming in Abuja.

The minister also said that he will contact the shepherds on this issue.

Wike stated this during a press conference on his first day in office, as he vowed to clean up the Federal Capital.

The new minister said that shepherds can graze cattle outside the city but they will not be allowed to eat the grass that is used to beautify the city.

"We will contact the herdsmen to see how we can stop herding because we cannot leave the cattle in the city of Abuja," he said.

Wike said that the plants were planted in the city to beautify it and not for cattle to eat or waste.
