A car accident killed six people in Osun state
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in Nigeria has said that at least six people have died as a result of a car accident in Osun state in the south of the country.
The zonal commander, Henry Benamesia, said two vehicles collided on Saturday at around 9:44 p.m. due to brake failure of one of them, resulting in the death of six of the passengers.
"The police took the bodies of five people to the Osun Teaching Hospital before the arrival of FRSC officials," NAN news agency quoted Mr. Benamesia as saying in a statement.
"One body was stuck in the body of one of the cars, until we used a machine before we could dismember it."
Benamesia said the excessive speed of one of the vehicles caused the accident.
