The Nigerian government has warned illegal miners

The Nigerian government has given illegal miners 30 days to stop their activities across the country.

The Minister of Mines, Dele Alake, said this at a press conference in Abuja.

Alake said that all the government's efforts to turn unlicensed miners into legal ones have failed.

He added that his ministry will review the licenses of miners in the country as part of the changes he is trying to make in the ministry.

The minister said that among the changes he is planning to make to the ministry is the development of a national mining company, which will join hands with international mining companies, and the creation of the police that will monitor the mining industry, and provide demographic information on mining in the country.

Last week, the Minister promised to clean up the mining sector by introducing some plans that he called "strict" to regulate the sector.
