 The Nigerian authorities have declared Wednesday a Mauludi holiday


The federal government has declared Wednesday, September 27, as a holiday to hold the Mauludi (Eid-El-Maulud) celebration held by Muslims to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.


In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, he congratulated the entire Muslim community on this day.


He also called on them to show patience and perseverance which are among the qualities of the Messenger of God S.A.W.


The statement continued, "The Minister congratulates the entire Muslim community at home and abroad on this year's festival.


Eid-ul-Maulud is a festival that Muslims celebrate every year to celebrate this day.


The celebration of Mawlid includes preaching meetings, prayers in praise of the Messenger of God S.A.W., reading the Qur'an and giving charity.
