Issoufou Announces French Ambassador's Plan To Court
The former President of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou, through his lawyer, denied the allegations made by the former French ambassador to Niger that he was involved in the military coup against Mohamed Bazoum on July 26, 2023.

In a written statement sent to the press, the lawyer who defends former President Issoufou Mahamadou, Me Illo Issoufou, began by responding to the statements made by Ambassador Sylvain Itte during the secret session of the Security Committee of the French Parliament. do on the things he knows about the coup d'état on July 26, 2023.
The lawyer said that the meeting that the ambassador said he had with Tiani and Issoufou, 2 days after the coup, if it was held then it cannot be a strong evidence to accuse Issoufou of involvement in the coup.
Also, Sylvain Itte in his discussion informed the Legislative Council that it is related to the disagreement between Bazoum Mohamed and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, who was Mahamadou Issoufou, regarding the appointment of the person who should head the new company. control of fuel affairs, in the meeting that the council of ministers wanted to do on the day of the coup.
However, the lawyer said that this conflict was created by Sylvain Itte because Bazoum and the Minister of Petroleum Resources had their opinion on that plan for petroleum affairs.
Me Illo Issoufou said that the French ambassador explained to the members of his country's parliament that they never thought that President Issoufou would be able to push the commander of the presidential palace, who is his person, to overthrow his political partner who spent 30 years together, the accusation the lawyer said that there is no smell of truth, in fact it is something that he sees as an attempt to make Tiani look like a little boy who does not know what he is doing.
After denying all the allegations that came out in the discussion of ambassador Sylvain Itte, Isssoufou Mahamadou's lawyer, Me Illo Issoufou reiterated that the former president had no hand in the military coup against President Mohamed Bazoum.
