The AfDB is afraid of the rise of conflict in some countries because of the high cost of living

The African Development Bank, AfDB, has expressed its fears about the possibility of riots in Nigeria and other African countries as a result of extreme poverty and the cost of living that continues to increase almost every day.

The bank has placed Nigeria, Ethiopia, Angola and Kenya among those at the forefront of the risk of conflict because of the high cost of living and the poverty suffered by the poor.

The AfDB gave this warning during its economic monitoring meeting which focused on how 2024 will be.

Nigerians in the states of Lagos, Kano, Niger and other areas have already held protests against the high cost of living, but there are no signs that the government is taking any measures to end this problem.

80 percent of the cost of living that Nigerians are facing is being blamed on the removal of fuel subsidies by the government of the country without providing a system that will make it easier for the poor.

Despite the calls of the citizens for the government to make it easier, there is nothing that the government has done except the promise to export 42 thousand tons of grain to sell to the poor people and it has done so easily.
