 Customs in Sokoto and Zamfara have released 15 trucks of seized grain

The Sokoto and Zamfara zonal customs commission, in accordance with the order given by the President of Nigeria Bola Tinubu to improve food supply, has given permission to release 15 trucks that were seized with grains and grain to their owners on March 12, 2024.

A statement bearing the signature of the Public Relations Officer of the Commission in the zone, requested traders to immediately sell the grain in the Nigerian market, stressing the Commission's determination to fight smuggling activities.

In addition, Comptroller Kamal announced a joint effort with the Customs Intelligence Agency (CIU) and the United Nations Cooperation Organization (JBPT) to monitor the distribution of these grains in the local market, ensuring that they will not have a way out of the country through smuggling.
