Darfur women accuse RSF forces of rape - Report

Women in Geneina, in West Darfur in Sudan, said that fighters associated with the RSF forces sexually assaulted them because of their ethnicity, as reported by the British Guardian newspaper.

It has been almost a year since the war between the RSF forces and the Sudanese army, which has put the people of the country in a humanitarian crisis.

The war started in Khartoum but spread to other parts of the country including Darfur.

The violence started in Geneina after the attack on the military team in November.

Most of the rape victims are from the Masalit area, said student Zeinab Mohammed.

She described them as a tribe with black skin.

It is suspected that the perpetrators were Arab fighters but traditional rulers have denied this, according to the Guardian.
