Yar'Adua has become the new president of the Northern Nigeria Senators Association
The Northern Nigeria Senators Association has appointed Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar'adua who represents Katsina Central in the Senate of the country as the new president of the association.
Yar'Adua, who is a member of the APC party - became the new leader of the party two days after the removal of Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi - who is a member of the opposition party PDP - from the leadership of the party after the parliament suspended him for three months.
Senator Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central in the Senate, accused the government of cramming 3.7 trillion naira into the country's budget.
Also, the Northern Senatorial Association has appointed Senator Tahir Munguno from Borno State as the spokesperson of the association.
Senator Munguno - who is a member of the APC party - replaced Senator Kawu Sumaila of the NNPP party from Kano state.
When the parliament suspended Senator Ningi, it warned Senator Kawu Sumaila to stop spreading messages that could cause riots in the country.
