The Nigerian Police has announced the arrest of a small arms and ammunition dealer called Mato.

They also revealed the arrest of a gun training instructor in a Boko Haram camp.


Mato was arrested along with four other Boko Haram members of their group.


The National Police Broadcasting Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement he issued on Thursday, in Abuja.


He said that in the month of August, the security forces achieved this great success, in different places across the country.


"In various raids carried out by the police officers in various places recently, there has been great success in arresting serious criminals in places across the country, including the dispersal of a gang of arms smugglers in Bauchi area. and Plato.


"Among those arrested are Taimako Mato, John Danladi, Mohammed Munkail, Manasseh William and Muhammadu Haddi.


They were found with one PKT Mashinga pistol, 40 rounds of ammunition. Their leader, Taimako Mato, is a gun instructor in a Boko Haram camp, and he is the dealer in the transportation of deadly weapons and sells them." Adebutu said.


He said that in different places, 295 armed robbers, 271 kidnappers, and 4087 bullets were captured in August.
