 Trump vows to use military to deport immigrants

US President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to use the military to remove the country's growing number of undocumented immigrants.

The president confirmed on his social media account on Monday, in response to a conservative commentator who wrote that Trump would declare a state of emergency and use the military to carry out his massive deportation plan.

Trump has repeatedly stressed during his campaign that he would use law enforcement to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement - the agencies legally authorized to deport immigrants - in carrying out his deportation plan.

Trump has said that on his first day in office - January 20, 2025, he will begin implementing his plan, which he says will be the largest deportation plan in American history.
