Ali Nuhu Launches Talent Discovery Program for Young Actors
In a move that has excited fans and aspiring actors across the North, Ali Nuhu, often referred to as the "King of Kannywood," has launched a brand-new initiative aimed at discovering and mentoring young talent in the Hausa film industry.
The program, called "Kannywood Talent Discovery Project," is designed to give young people — especially those from rural communities — a chance to break into the world of film. Through auditions, training workshops, and mentorship sessions, participants will learn acting techniques, script interpretation, and on-set professionalism from some of the industry’s best.
The first round of auditions kicked off in Kano, with massive turnouts from youths eager to chase their dreams. The project will also tour other states like Bauchi, Katsina, Kaduna, and Sokoto, giving more people a chance to be part of the movement.
Ali Nuhu explained that his goal is not just to find talent, but to build the future of Kannywood by investing in the next generation. "We have many untold stories," he said in a recent interview. "We need new faces, new energy, and fresh voices to bring them to life."
This project has been welcomed by many industry veterans, who believe it will not only uplift the film industry but also keep young people focused and creative, especially in times when distractions and unemployment are affecting many in the region.
