Woman Shares Her Lip Filler Removal Process and 'Lip Flip' Procedure: 'It Definitely Hurt Pretty Bad'

Kylie Jenner, Brielle Biermann, Farrah Abraham, and Jeff Lewis are just a few of the personalities who have said in the past several years that they have had their lip fillers taken out. Blac Chyna has been posting about her effort to get rid of her lip fillers and undo all of her plastic surgery, including facial fillers, breast implants, and butt injections.

The trend has now spread to social media, where more and more people are posting about their personal experiences getting their cosmetic treatments undone.

Earlier this month, TikToker Jazzmyn Wollfe used the app to broadcast her followers the moment she got her lip filler removed.

"I haven't had filler in two or three years, and even though they've gone down a lot, I still see migration on my top lip, which I really hate," she said. "So I'm going to go get that taken care of."

Wollfe, a Canadian singer-songwriter, filmed herself getting her lip fillers removed in both lips for TikTok. She went to Subtly You, a clinic in Ontario, where they numbed her lips before she worked with cosmetic nurse injector Shawna Leifso on the operation.

Lip fillers are injections of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance in the body, that make the lips look fuller. They usually last for 12 to 18 months. Injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase can speed up the breakdown and dissolution of the lip filler, which is what happens naturally.

Wollfe added, "That girl was honestly amazing, she was so great," and then she showed off her lips after leaving the facility. "It really hurt a lot, and this side is very swollen."

The next day, Wollfe posted a video showing some of the bruises she had, which is normal after getting the shots. She then went on to say that the major reason she opted to get rid of her fillers was because she had one of the common adverse effects: migration.

When hyaluronic acid moves away from the place where it was supposed to be injected, it might cause lip asymmetry or face distortions. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as giving the filler incorrectly, filling the region too much, or not taking care of it properly afterwards.

"I used to get lip filler. The last time I got it was probably in 2020." "But for most people, filler doesn't just go away completely; it usually moves to other places," Wollfe warned her followers.
"So, the area above my lip was very pushed out," she went on. "It was incredibly puffy—not in my lips anymore, but above them. And it kind of pressed down on my lip, which made it look even smaller at times. So, I decided to get a lip flip instead.

Wollfe chose to get a lip flip right after her lip fillers were removed, and she posted about it on TikTok too.

A lip flip is a common nonsurgical surgery that makes the lips look bigger without adding more volume to them, like lip fillers do. According to the Cleveland Clinic, Botox is injected into the corners of the mouth and the borders of the lips. This relaxes the muscles around the lips and makes them "flip" up, making them look bigger than normal.

Lip flips usually look more "natural" than fillers for the lips.

Wollfe remarked on TikTok that it took around two weeks for the results of her lip flip to show up, and she "really liked" how it came out. She posted a picture of herself before and after the procedure.
