Who is Ruth Kedar?
Ruth Kedar is a Brazilian born in Campinas in the year 1955. At the age of 16, she and her family relocated to Israel. It was not an easy transition: a new culture and a new language. She fell back on what she liked best - math and art. This combination brought her to architecture and she ultimately operated her own studio. But she thought something was wanting. She later relocated to the United States several years later to pursue her studies, as Techlusive says. She received a master’s degree of design at Stanford. A playing-card set of hers, which attracted the attention of Adobe, was the opening of a great career. She had created the promotional Illustrator deck of Adobe, become an art director and had gone back to Stanford as a visiting art professor.
It was there the Fate interfered. Larry Page and Sergey Brin the two PhD students were engaged in a little project that would later change the world. They wanted Kedar to create their logo. She took the challenge, dedicated herself wholly and developed a design that would stand the test of time.
In an interview with Google on its 25 th anniversary, she gave an explanation of how the design was acquired. Earlier on in the process, we had agreed that we would develop a logotype of Google which implied that only the letters in the Google name would be used in the logo.
