Makena White communicated her health problems in some of her posts on social media before she died at the age of 28.
White, the girlfriend of PGA golfer Jake Knapp, was killed earlier this week, her friend posted on her Instagram account on Friday, Sept. 26. The month before her death, White posted several social media posts about her health.
During one X post in June, White posted a picture of US Open Golf Championship scores on her laptop when she was at her workplace. In the caption she wrote: We’re dialled #GolfsLongestDay.
One of the follow up posts featured a photo of her Apple Watch, indicating that she had a high heart rate of 133. White mentioned in the caption that she has tachycardia - a state when the heart beats improperly. Her message was (By dialled I mean tachycardic) #GolfsLongestDay.
In another post, which was published a month ago in May, White was shown wearing a holter monitor, a small device that is carried to monitor heart activity.
Along with the picture, she wrote: The irony of attending a cardiac surgery conference (my job) and having a holter monitor on your own heart defect is quite amusing.
Another mailed post that was sent in April showed that White had been the subject of one of what now seemed to be numerous operations.
"Holy s---. Just, came out of 6h post anesthesia nap, she wrote at the time on X.White as being one of a kind and someone who had this rare ability to make you feel special and who had a huge heart which was constantly full of love.
To be loved by Makena was a gift; and a gift that brought endless laughter, so much joy and a pleasant sprinkling of mayhem as we would struggle to keep pace with her traveling schedule, Knapp said after White was announced dead, and said that he was remembering his girlfriend. The athlete said Makena was such a thoughtful individual and I will forever admire the way the person was selfless towards others. We had so many memorable moments together and now that she is gone, it is hard to come to terms that she is gone.
Knapp, to whom White allegedly started dating in August 2023, wrote: She was an extraordinarily good mother with fantastic friends, and her joie de vivre and zest will be all the more missed by us. It is no exaggeration that all this is very difficult to digest by everyone who knew Mak, more so by her family and friends, who should be given privacy and respect in this challenging period.
