On Saturday, Sept. 27, Arkansas football receiver Jalen Brown was carted off the field with a gruesome injury attempting to bring in a pass in third-quarter touchdown against Notre Dame.
Brown was surrounded by his teammates because the game was on hold after a few minutes when the stretcher arrived on the field. Following a commercial break the ABC broadcast indicated they would not broadcast replay, citing the nature of the injury. When leaping, the back of his leg had gotten stuck on the Notre Dame defender and looked to be bending clumsily on the way down.
This is a hard blow to the Razorbacks since the young star was starting the season with 11 receptions and 156 yards and two TDs. Arkansas went into its match with Notre Dame just having lost to Ole Miss and Memphis in consecutive weeks, and now will be without one of its receivers, at least in the near term, which appears to be understandable.
After his leg awkwardly bent jumping to collect a third down pass by Taylen Green in the end zone, Brown was carted off the field against Notre Dame with an apparent leg injury. Brown was writhing in pain and was surrounded by his teammates when carted off as Brown was taken to a nearby hospital and will be examined once x-rays are taken to identify the severity of the injury.
